Success at RADfertility wouldn’t be possible without the expert embryologists, andrologists and technicians in our laboratory. Our lab adheres to the highest standards and is well above regulatory compliance levels set by state and federal government. RADfertility’s laboratory is accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) Laboratory Accreditation Program and has Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act (CLIA) certification. Here are just some of the advanced techniques performed by the laboratory team at RADfertility:

Semen Analysis

As part of RADfertility’s initial fertility investigation, we examine the viability of a male partner’s sperm in addition to testing a female partner’s potential fertility. A semen analysis allows our andrologists to determine the concentration, morphology and motility of the male partner’s sperm. RADfertility’s Andrology Lab performs approximately 1400 semen analyses each year.

As an alternative to the fertility center setting for a semen analysis, we offer a RADdad at-home sperm collection kit that you can send to our office by mail.

Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI)

Intracytoplasmic sperm injection is a technique in which a single sperm is injected into an egg in order to achieve fertilization. Embryologists use a glass tube called a pipette to inject the sperm directly into the cytoplasm of the egg. After fertilization occurs, the embryo is cultured in a laboratory incubator and then ultimately transferred during a fresh or frozen IVF cycle.

Preimplantation Genetic Testing for Aneuploidies (PGT-A, Formerly Known as PGS)

An embryo that appears healthy can contain chromosomal abnormalities. Preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidies (PGT-A, formerly known as PGS) provides information regarding the chromosomal health of the embryo. PGT-A can greatly enhance the chance of selecting the healthiest embryo, increasing the likelihood of a healthy pregnancy.
