Coronavirus Update
April 14, 2020 – Dear Current and Future RADfertility Patient,
We have some good news to share! Our physicians have recently started telemedicine consultations from the safety of everyone’s home, and they are uniformly going very well. We plan to continue this helpful way to communicate with our current and future patients until we are able to safely open our doors for in-office visits, thus allowing evaluation and treatment. As the COVID-19 epidemic appears to be gradually slowing down in our community, we have started to plan a pathway for safely opening our office. We will continue telemedicine consults in the meantime, and hope you will stay connected to your portal and our RADfertility Facebook community. Stay safe and healthy, and we hope to see all of you in a few weeks!
Warm regards,
Your RADfertility Family
March 23, 2020 – A Message From Dr. Ronald Feinberg
There are numerous reasons we shouldn’t proceed with non-urgent egg freeze and embryo creations cycles at this time:
1. Every patient or staff member involved is a potential asymptomatic carrier, and could become symptomatic during the course of treatment.
2. There is risk, albeit relatively small, to ovarian stimulation procedures and egg retrieval, i.e. infection, bleeding, ovarian hyperstimulation, ovarian torsion. Management of these potential complications could collide dramatically with the health care systems’ other stressors.
3. Anesthesiologists and/or anesthetists, who might be needed in many centers for oocyte retrieval, are in short supply and are busy managing ventilators in many centers.
4. Appropriate protective equipment is in very short supply.
5. This is temporary (let’s hope and pray), and no one will lose their skills.
6. All fertility care workers may need to be deployed to other health care and laboratory tasks.
7. Our clinical and lab space could be re-purposed for other uses.
Everyone needs to stay healthy, safe, calm, and prudent.
March 17, 2020 – To Our RADfertility Family,
Our top priorities at RADfertility are the combined safety and wellbeing of our patients and our staff. There has been a great deal of information to process up until this point about the epidemic, the impact we believe it will have on our citizens and healthcare community, and the specific guidance and mandates we have received from our leaders in healthcare and government. Based on all of this information, it is clearly necessary for RADfertility to suspend day-to-day operations as of March 20, 2020. We are actively communicating with patients and committed to your care in every way! For any questions or concerns during this time please email questions@radfertility.com.
We will get through this together!
