Medical Assistant
RADfertility is currently seeking an energetic and skilled Medical Assistant who takes direction well and is a team player for a challenging position.
The candidate must be comfortable assisting with procedures and should be flexible and willing to travel to different office locations. Weekend work is required. Spanish-speaking is a plus. Minimal experience of 1-2 years in Women’s Health is required.
EXTENDED DESCRIPTION
Job Function
The Medical Assistant will strive to provide ethical, professional and compassionate patient care. To maintain daily patient care through clinical and administrative duties, working closely with the physicians, clinicians, nurses and support staff. The Medical Assistant will triage phone calls, review patient labs and communicate findings with physicians/and or clinicians. Act as a patient advocate.
Qualifications, Education, Certifications and Training
- Medical Assistant Certificate or Associate’s degree preferred
- Experience in Womens Health and or ART preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Ability to prioritize caseload management
- Flexibility with work schedule including weekends, holidays and traveling to satellite offices
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of patient assessment and triage
- Phlebotomy & Injections
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with patients and staff
- Knowledge of medical and endocrine conditions and ability to learn fertility related issues
- Knowledge of clinical operations and procedures including sterile technique, hand hygiene and infection control protocols.
- Ability to react calmly and act effectively in emergency situations
- Ability to foster a cooperative work environment
- Collaborate with clinical staff at all levels, interdisciplinary teams and executive officers to keep them informed at all times

Responsibilities
Clinical
- Triage phone calls, review with providers, return phone call to patients in a timely matter and document appropriately
- Review labs, review with providers, communicate with patients and document follow up appropriately
- Review abnormal labs with providers and follow up with patients as needed
- Educate patients on appropriate topics and ask for help when needed
- Injection teaching using aseptic technique
- Communicate with physicians, clinicians, lab staff and administrators regarding daily patient care
- Ability to call in or send through the message center prescriptions as ordered by a physician or clinician
- Assist in any and all aspects of office procedures as needed using sterile technique
- Performs other duties as delegated by physicians, clinical support staff manager, clinicians or executive committee member
- Travel to satellite offices
- Ability to answer phones and collect messages to ensure patient needs are addressed timely
- Managing your duties within the time allotted. Any overtime must be approved by your supervisor in advance.
- Chaperoning of daily patient load to include: ultrasounds, physical exams and all in office procedures including as oocyte retrievals and embryo transfers.
- Ensure exam and procedure rooms are prepared and ready for patients daily.
- Assist in the educational needs for patients pertaining to all aspects of infertility and well as endocrinology.
- Assist in patient callbacks regarding their plan of care.
- Draw blood for lab processing and administer injections using aseptic technique.
- Ability to take all vital signs for patients and document appropriately.
- Assist in sterilization process for all instruments to be processed.
- Process probes per manufacturer’s guidelines.
- Make sure all appropriate test results, consult notes, x-ray reports, etc are on the patient’s charts prior to physician visits.
- Communicate with physicians, nursing staff, lab staff and administration daily regarding daily patient needs.
- Maintaining patient check-in status, triaging patients, checking out patients.
- General office duties to include; photocopying, faxing and filing.
- Ability to call in prescriptions as directed by a physician or clinician.
- Maintain all ordering of supplies.
- Flexibility to go to other office locations when needed.
- Ensure all daily charts are available with the appropriate paperwork.
- Opening and closing down exam and procedure rooms, cleaning between cases.
- Assist in any and all aspects of our office when needed.
- Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices.
- Reports to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.
- Performs other healthcare activities and duties as delegated by the clinical support staff manager, physician, practitioners or practice administrator.
Administrative
- Answer calls and forward to the appropriate party in a timely manner.
- Answering incoming calls and directing calls to the proper departments.
- Greet patients, physicians and other employees in a professional manner.
- Create a ”patient experience” through concierge service using hospitality skills.
- Assist patients with questions and concerns.
- Scan licenses onto file server.
- Enter demographic data into RADCare and Pcare.
- Maintain patient charts as needed.
- Communicate daily with clinical, other patient care coordinators, physicians and lab staff regarding any urgent patient care needs.
- Other administrative duties as assigned.
- Collect copays or payments noted in MacPractice from patients

Infertility Registered Nurse (RN)
An Infertility Registered Nurse (RN) provides care to RADfertility patients by completing a specialized nursing process, collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members, providing physical and psychological support to patients and supervising other clinical personnel as needed.

Educate and counsel patients on a variety of issues, including but not limited to : infertility, In Vitro Fertilization (IVF), early pregnancy, pre and post operative follow up; Genetics and Tubal reversal consultations; IVF and infertility injection teaching; assisting in IVF and clinical procedures; Monitor OHSS patients; Start and monitor IV intravenous fluids; Act as a patient advocate.
